Back again with new PC/ laptop battery change

Finally! I was super busy earlier since a lot of stuff was going on. I now moved to start my master’s degree and wanted to build my own PC. New laptop’s pricing are insane these days :(( I’m kinda on a budget of around 1500$ and below is probably the best that I could afford right now.

overview
motherboard
apply thermal paste – yuck
inside the case
messy backside – as long as it works, it’s fine. sigh.

After hours of putting things into their place, it’s finally done. I plugged it in, connected the dp to the monitor, and hoped that it would work fine. Fingers crossed.

It was not. The green boot signal on the motherboard was on. I decided to get some food.

After that I tried to switch to HDMI; double checked the input signal is correct on the monitor – did not work either.

And I pulled the memory out, wiped it, and put it back – did not work. I turned it on again, only to find that the DRAM sign was on this time.

I was frustrated. I started to doubt if the memory was broken – or worse- if the motherboard was broken.

Since I installed the memory at #2 and #4 slots, I began to test each slot with each memory. Time passed. Neither worked. In the end, I realized that I need to push hard at the other side even after the “clip” sound. Which is pretty hard since I did not want to destroy anything. The G.Skill memory that I bought seems to be even thinner than other memories, so I need extra attention and patience (And my hand hurt a lot).

Now that the DRAM light was no longer on. The boot is on. I repeated the previous checks and all of a sudden I realized some fact that I have forgotten after the long day: My 12600KF does not have integrated graphics.

What a surprise.

After connecting the DP to the video card the BIOS screen showed up and I was crying

Since it was my first time picking/installing my own PC, I still think I did an ok job.

Some test reults:

Also I changed my old laptop’s battery after that.

If the battery were a kid it should go to elementary school this year

Get some rest my old friend.

Much cleaner than I thought to be honest.

Didn’t open it since I bought it back in June 2015. Nostalgia kicking in.

All right, that’s for this post.
